Acupuncture & Myofascial Trigger Point (MFTP) Therapy
I believe acupuncture to be part of a multimodal approach to managing various conditions. Acupuncture affects physiological change by placing needles that stimulate nervous, immune and vascular responses.
My practice mainly focuses on addressing pain and improving mobility and quality of life. These adjunct therapies can be used for postsurgical care, arthritis, injury, muscular dysfunction and many other acute and chronic causes of discomfort.
Acupuncture can help address the side effects of drugs and chemotherapy that are used to treat illness. Myofascial trigger point therapy addresses muscle dysfunction that can result from injury or chronic disease. Depending on patient need, I use various forms of acupuncture including needles, aquapuncture, acupressure, and electroacupuncture.
Myofascial trigger point therapy is performed with manual or needle techniques.
